NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo has recently sold his Miami Beach residence, a mere two months after his trade to the Oklahoma Thunder. Public records indicate that Oladipo parted ways with the property located at 65 South Hibiscus Drive for a sum of $9 million, marking a noteworthy increase from his initial purchase price of $7.8 million for the non-waterfront abode two years prior.
Liz Hogan of Compass handled the listing, while the buyer, yet undisclosed, awaits formal recording of the deed. Oladipo, a Miami Heat player as of 2021, acquired the 6,500-square-foot domicile, constructed in 2020. The residence boasts seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and an additional half-bathroom, all situated on a .3-acre parcel—a size considered exceptional for Hibiscus Island. Noteworthy features include dual master suites, a detached guest house, and a pool.
Oladipo’s acquisition in 2021 initially set a benchmark for non-waterfront properties in Miami Beach, but this record was swiftly eclipsed due to heightened demand during the pandemic, culminating in a $12.5 million transaction for a Sunset Islands residence in 2022. This recent sale now establishes a new pinnacle for non-waterfront homes on Hibiscus Island, as per Hogan.
In June, Oladipo listed the residence for $10 million according to Redfin. Despite his uncertain basketball trajectory, Oladipo aims to maintain a “home base” in the Miami vicinity, with a priority on securing a more expansive yard for his daughter. Properties in Weston, Davie, Southwest Ranches, and the NBA-favored inland enclave of Pinecrest have been under consideration. Notably, Heat player Tyler Herro acquired a Pinecrest estate for $10.5 million in December.
In recent developments, retired NBA player Jason Richardson acquired a residence just south of Olympia Heights for $6.3 million. Last year, Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler invested in a South Miami residence for $7.4 million in February.
