Miami has surged to the 10th spot in RentCafe’s 2024 survey, a notable improvement from last year’s 25th place finish.
Charleston, SC retains the top spot, but Miami’s rise is remarkable. The survey evaluated 149 cities across 20 metrics, grouped into three primary categories: cost of living and housing (50%), local economy (30%), and quality of life (20%).

  • 1st Place for Local Economy: Highest number of new business applications (476) and third-highest income growth for renters (58.3%).
