NBA Star Kevin Love Scores a Spectacular Miami Mansion

Miami Heat’s power forward, Kevin Love, and his wife, Kate, have just secured a lavish residence in the vibrant heart of Coconut Grove. The dynamic couple invested a cool $9.5 million in a sprawling spec home situated just northeast of Main Highway, showcasing their discerning taste and penchant for luxury living.

The 6,400-square-foot mansion, acquired through a discreet trust, exudes opulence with its seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, wine cellar, and a pristine pool—truly a haven for the couple’s exquisite lifestyle. Nestled on a third-acre lot and completed in 2023, this architectural gem was skillfully developed by a company led by visionaries Carlos Fontecilla and Justin Drexler.

Financing this dream abode was no small feat, as the Loves secured a $6.1 million mortgage from the esteemed Morgan Stanley, underscoring the financial prowess of the NBA star and his spouse.

Love, who joined the Miami Heat last season under a lucrative two-year, $7.9 million contract, has a storied basketball career that began in 2008 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His journey led him to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 before finding his current home with the Heat.

This latest real estate acquisition adds Love’s name to the roster of NBA players making significant property investments in the Miami area. Tyler Herro, a sharpshooting guard for the Heat, recently splurged $10.5 million on a Pinecrest mansion, while Victor Oladipo, Love’s predecessor in the Heat roster, made a profitable move by selling his Miami Beach home for $9 million, two years after its initial purchase for $7.8 million.

Even basketball royalty like LeBron James, formerly of the Miami Heat and now a Los Angeles Laker, continues to leave his mark on the Miami real estate scene. James recently invested $9 million in a unit at the oceanfront Estates at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach, showcasing the enduring allure of Miami’s luxury residential market among elite athletes.

As Love settles into his new Coconut Grove abode, it seems the Miami Heat’s roster isn’t just making waves on the court but also leaving an indelible mark on the city’s high-end real estate landscape.
